§ 3.4.6. Introduction to architectural standards for residential.

  • The following architectural standards apply to the apartment / condominium and the townhouse lot/building types. (For villas/attached, SF detached, estate, and countryside tract lot/building types, see section 3.4.8). The purpose of these architectural standards for residential buildings include:

    A.

    Encouraging traditional residential building forms that reinforce the pedestrian orientation and desired visual quality of the various districts.

    B.

    Creating usable outdoor space in the front and rear of buildings through the arrangement of compatible residential buildings along street frontages.

    C.

    Encouraging residential buildings of compatible type and scale to have creative ornamentation using varied architectural styles.

    D.

    Enhancing the various districts as attractive destinations for working, living, recreation, entertainment, and/or shopping.

    E.

    Maintaining and enhancing the sense of place of each of the districts and their respective property values.
