§ 114-25. Traffic engineer; establishment; general duties.

  • (a)

    There is hereby established the position of traffic engineer in and for the city. The director of public works shall, by virtue of his office, be the traffic engineer, and serve during the term of his office as director.

    (b)

    The general duties of the traffic engineer shall be to determine the installation and proper timing and maintenance of traffic control devices, to conduct engineering analyses of accidents and to devise remedial measures, to conduct engineering investigations of traffic conditions and to cooperate with other city officials in the development of ways and means to improve traffic conditions, and to carry out the additional powers and duties as are described in this article.
