§ 2-60. Appointment of committees.

  • (a)

    The mayor shall annually appoint the following standing committees of the council, subject to approval of the council, the members of which shall hold their offices until the Monday preceding the first Tuesday in May of each year, unless otherwise ordered by the council:

    (1)

    Finance committee.

    (2)

    Public safety committee.

    (3)

    Public services committee.

    (4)

    Administrative and community service committee.

    (b)

    Each of the committees shall be composed of at least three members and each alderman shall be appointed to not less than two committees except for the chairman of the administrative and community service committee and the public services committee, who shall only serve on the committee of which they are the chairman. The mayor shall fill any vacancies on said committees as they may occur.
