§ 2-537. Personal use prohibited; exceptions.

  • (a)

    All employees of the city, except those enumerated further herein, are hereby prohibited from using city-provided vehicles for personal use. All vehicles except the marked vehicle used by the fire chief and the vehicle assigned to the director of public works shall be kept on city-owned premises, the specific premises to be designated by the supervisor or department head of that particular department.

    (b)

    The director of public works who is provided a vehicle for his use on a 24-hour-per-day basis, will continue the use of said vehicle and may take said vehicle home.

    (c)

    The vehicle provided to the fire chief, which is a marked fire vehicle, is hereby declared to be a qualified, nonpersonal use vehicle.

    (d)

    The vehicle being used by the director of public works is found to be a nonexempt vehicle and this vehicle and any future vehicles that may be nonexempt vehicles, provided to employees, shall be treated as provided in this division.
