§ 2-209. Deputy clerk.

  • (a)

    There is hereby established the office of deputy city clerk in and for the city. The deputy city clerk shall be appointed by the city clerk and such appointment shall be in writing.

    (b)

    The deputy city clerk shall have the power and the duty to execute all documents or warrants required by law to be executed by the clerk, but only in the clerk's absence from the city. In the execution of such documents or warrants, the deputy city clerk shall sign the name of the clerk, followed with the word "by" and the deputy city clerk's own name and title.
