§ 6-57. Training requirements for licensees and employees.

  • (a)

    Proof of completion. All original or renewal applications for Class A, B, C, D, G1 and G2 liquor licenses shall be accompanied with proof of completion of the required Illinois liquor control commission (ILCC) approved beverage alcohol sellers and servers educational training (BASSET) program. Verification of training shall be in the form of an affidavit which will be accompanied by a list of employees with specific certification information for each trained employee.

    (b)

    Licensee/employee education required. All managers of licensees for Class A, B, C, D, G1 and G2 liquor licenses shall attend and complete a live training ILCC approved BASSET program within 90 days from the start of their employment with the licensee. All employees of Class B, C, G1 and G2 liquor licensees who serve alcoholic beverages or are responsible for checking age identification of patrons of their establishment shall attend and complete a live training ILCC approved BASSET program within 90 days of their employment with the licensee. Until such training is complete, new managers, servers and identification checkers shall work under the supervision of a person who possesses current and valid BASSET certification. Checking age identification to verify a purchaser of alcoholic liquor is over the age of 21 must be done by a person, who has completed a live training ILCC approved BASSET program. Live training BASSET certification is valid for three years from the date issue and shall be renewed every three years for those required to be so trained.
