§ 78-7. Designation of park areas.

  • (a)

    Public park. The following tracts of land are hereby designated as public park areas:

    (1)

    City Park;

    (2)

    Vadalabene Park;

    (3)

    Hoppe Park;

    (4)

    Leclaire Lake Park;

    (5)

    Hotz Park;

    (6)

    Lusk Memorial Park;

    (7)

    Springer Woods Park;

    (8)

    Rotary Park;

    (9)

    Terry Park;

    (10)

    ESIC Park;

    (11)

    Tower Park;

    (12)

    Watershed Nature Center;

    (13)

    Joe Glik Park;

    (14)

    Ninian Edwards Plaza; and

    (15)

    Benjamin Stephenson House.

    (b)

    Passive parks. The following areas shall be designated as passive parks and shall be limited in the types of activities that shall be allowed:

    (1)

    City Park;

    (2)

    Lusk Memorial Park;

    (3)

    Rotary Park;

    (4)

    Hotz Park;

    (5)

    Terry Park;

    (6)

    Watershed Nature Center;

    (7)

    Joe Glik Park;

    (8)

    Ninian Edwards Plaza; and

    (9)

    Benjamin Stephenson House.

    No person in any park designated as passive shall engage in any organized group activity, sport, game, athletic recreation, or other active participatory amusement without first obtaining permission from the director, or the director's designated representative. Such prohibited organized group activities shall include, but not be limited to, baseball, football, basketball, soccer, softball, archery, tennis, skateboarding, skating (ice or roller), golf, Frisbee-type throwing, bicycling, or any other activity similar in nature that may disrupt the passive nature of said park. Nothing herein is intended to prohibit individuals from engaging in any of the described activities.

    (c)

    Active parks. All other parks not designated as passive shall be considered active parks and shall be regulated by all sections of this chapter not specifically included in sections regulating passive parks.
